A Roman holiday on two wheels. Numbered, signed, untouched.
Italy, 1951. A different world. Slower roads. True craftsmanship. Machines built with soul. This Vespa has travelled through decades of history. Professionally and comprehensively restored years ago, with great attention to detail and deep respect for its originality. Finished in Max Meyer green paint over the iconic Max Meyer red primer, retaining many original details and all the authentic charm of a bygone era. It travelled through the beautiful roads of Franciacorta, among vineyards, hills, and small Italian villages, living the road exactly as a true vintage Vespa should. That is why it proudly carries a few small marks of time — honest traces of its real history. Afterwards, it was preserved for many years inside a private collection. Today, it remains absolutely beautiful. Mechanically perfect. Elegant in every detail. Ready to live again. An extremely rare 1951 “Roman Holiday” Vespa. Not just a scooter. A true piece of Italy.
My 1951 “Roman Holiday” Vespa is not simply a restored Vespa. It is a true piece of Italian history, preserved with passion, authenticity, and respect. The restoration was completed years ago in a professional manner, with the philosophy of maintaining the soul and originality of the scooter. The bodywork was finished using Max Meyer green paint with the iconic Max Meyer red primer underneath, staying faithful to the original techniques and materials of the era. Many original details are still present today, giving the Vespa an authentic charm that has become extremely difficult to find. This is not a Vespa restored to look artificially brand new — this Vespa has lived. It travelled through the beautiful roads of Franciacorta, among vineyards, hills, and small Italian villages, and that history is part of what makes it so special. Over the years it developed a few small marks and imperfections, natural signs of a real life honestly lived. After being enjoyed with care, it was stored away and preserved for many years inside my private collection. Even today it remains absolutely beautiful, elegant in every detail, and mechanically perfect. The engine runs flawlessly, ready to be ridden and ready to create emotions once again. Finding today a “Roman Holiday” Vespa in these conditions, with this level of authenticity and preservation, is something extremely rare. For many years, it has been one of the most important pieces in my collection.
